  • Spring 2013 Internship Opportunities with HigherNext

Hello everyone, I wanted to share with you two internship opportunities for Spring 2013 with a company called HigherNext. HigherNext is the creator of the Certified Business Laureate (CBL) Program, a business skills test that is designed to prepare college graduates for entry-level business positions. The CBL tests practical business knowledge in five key areas: financial proficiency, basic accounting, general marketing, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and business writing.

They currently have two spots open for their paid Spring 2013 Marketing Internship at their Bethlehem, PA office. For more information and to apply, please click here. HigherNext offers another Spring 2013 Internship as part of their brand advocate/campus ambassador program to promote the HigherNext and CBL message around Temple’s campus. The application for this program can be found here.

HigherNext has tons of free resources on their website, including an optimized resume template, resume e-book, and mini-business degree textbooks, so be sure to check those out. HigherNext also posts articles that are interesting and relevant to students on their Corporate Casual blog. Lastly, please check out HigherNext on LinkedIn and join their group, Career-Minded Business Majors. Through this group, HigherNext moderates discussions that stress the importance of standing out and how to get hired after graduation.

If you have any questions or would like more information about HigherNext and the internships offered, please contact Jen Scherpenseel, at jen@highernext.com.

  • Media Sales and Development Internship

College Living is looking for a Temple Marketing student to hire as a part-time intern this Spring. Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors are all welcome to apply.

Founded in 2005, College Living is a quarterly free magazine dedicated to celebrating the essence of the collegiate experience in the cities of Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and New Brunswick. Through humorous, informative and compelling content that appeals to the common interests of the city’s most coveted demographic, CL captures the youthful exuberance that defines today’s college student.

The magazine, which enjoys a 30,000-plus circulation in the areas surrounding institutions such as Temple, St. Joseph’s, Villanova, La Salle, Drexel, University of Pennsylvania, Rutgers and several DC area schools, is currently seeking area undergraduates to serve as sales interns.

This is an excellent opportunity for people interested in sales, journalism, and media to work on the inside track of a publication other than a school newspaper. Solid writing/language skills are a must; background/experience in editorial work and a strong written or visual portfolio is a definite plus. Most importantly, CL interns must be motivated, independent thinkers. This is your chance to take the initiative and a widely distributed publication your own.

If you are interested in this unique and beneficial opening, apply on FoxNet by 11/19/10
